A lot's been happening this year. 2026 has not been kind. I'm gonna kinda just summarize everything rather than going into detail like the last update post, but it's still rather long.
- We've determined that being medically recognized with DID means that we do in fact have DID, and the only reason we were hesitating was because of fear of being fakeclaimed or whatever.
- We spent March -- June desperately archiving our Simply Plural data and finding alternatives. We ended up with 5 different alternatives, 3 of them online, 1 of them being Word documents, and the other being physical documentation. We're never putting ourselves in another Simply Plural "everything in one place only" situation ever again.
- The migraines seem to be getting more and more frequent and are causing us a ton of brain fog, which was especially fun in June because "brain fog and nausea" is a pretty good summary of how that month went. We're actually wondering about whether we should consider looking into going on disability because of how much they've been bothering us.
- We also learned about another sidesystem that apparently has been here "from the beginning" and they hate us. Fun. They apparently got frustrated years ago and isolated themselves, basically going into some form of dormancy, but now they're back and are possibly even more upset with us because we kinda forced contact without realizing all of what was going on (they put up a large gate to signal to us "Keep Out!" but we didn't realize that's what the gate's purpose was and went past it to explore.
This sidesystem is apparently so frustrated with us because when they were around before, their existence wasn't actually recognized, they're apparently the ones who built our headspace and the rest of us had thought that it had built itself after we created the initial room (which is actually why our headspace can appear temperamental and delete things we create or otherwise alter things, as they get frustrated with us changing stuff and "reset" things to how it was before), and we were right about the Entities being the original inhabitants because this sidesystem reports that they set up a sort of relationship with them and explained that the Entities agreed to protect knowledge of the sidesystem from the rest of us and that they lived beside them amicably. They also hypothesize that the Beasts are corrupted Entities.
With this discovery, we're starting to think that labels like "complex" and "polyplural" are good descriptors for how our system operates.
- Eating is still a challenge. Especially because our brain keeps restricting what's "allowed" more and more.
